HOLA!! Here are some things we've been doing in Spanish class so far this year!!!
Kindergarten through third grades learned how to introduce themselves in Spanish at the beginning of the year. They have been learning the alphabet (see video below). They created Alphabet wheels so they could go home and practice. Also, they learned some common classroom commands, we've reviewed our numbers through 10.
First through third grades are just beginning to lay the basic vocabulary groundwork for TPRS where the students participate in adding details to a Spanish story. They are having a lot of fun learning how to talk about their classmates in Spanish and make up silly stories at the same time!!
Fourth through sixth grades have also learned how to introduce themselves with their Spanish names they chose at the beginning of the year along with being able to say an animal they like in Spanish.
They have also been learning some classroom commands, just a LOT MORE than the younger grades. They even made a Classroom Command booklet with pictures to take home and practice.
For the past two weeks 4th-6th graders have been laying the ground work for TPRS, where the entire story is in Spanish and the students are adding the details. So far they can tell who is in the story and where they are at in the story.

Kindergarten through 3rd grade have also been learning a song called "Soldado de Jesus" (The Lord's Army). They are getting very good at it!
