Congratulations to our artists selected for Art a Loan 2015: Kindergartener Kiernan Terry and 5th grader Alexa Thompson!
Co-sponsored by the Jackson Civic Art Association and the Ella Sharp Museum, the Art a Loan program accepts four entries per grade from each Jackson County school. From these entries, only 50-60 pieces of art from grades K-12 are chosen each year by a committee. The selected art is professionally framed and displayed for a show at the Ella Sharp Museum in the fall. Following the exhibit, local businesses rent the art and place it in a public location for one year. Artists will receive their framed work back in the fall of 2016; rental proceeds fund the program for the following year. Images of this year's work and a listing of renters will soon be available at jacksoncivicart.org under the "Art a Loan" tab.
