This week Dr. Heller shared some of the activities our lower elementary students are doing in their music classes. Our Kindergarten students are learning that every song that we sing and move with has a steady beat. They played the steady beat on our Orff xylophones and marimbas while others watched, then moved to the beat. Everyone got a turn! Our second graders learned how specific musical instruments are used to represent the various animals portrayed in Prokofiev’s Carnival of the Animals. Natalie, from Grade 6, came to the music class and played her flute for us on the day we studied The Aviary.
